My Professional Experience:
Being a police officer is the only job I have ever wanted. In 2012, my dream came true was I was hired on with the North Platte, Police Department in North Platte, Nebraska. I gradated with the 184th Basic Academy Class from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in December 2012. Since that time I have grown at my agency taking on a number of additional roles. I am a Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, Police Explorers Advisor and facilitate a number of inter department trainings.
In 2019, I was promoted to Investigator, being the first female Investigator in nearly 20 years. I have spent a lot of time recruiting and improving social media and community relations in North Platte. Most recently I supervised the first ever all female shift at my agency, with two female officers I helped to recruit to North Platte.
Being an outsider to North Platte, I have made it a point in my career, to get involved with the community to fully know and understand the residents, business owners and community leaders. I volunteer with our local juvenile diversion group, serve on community boards, and several years ago competing in a Miss Habitat for Humanity competition to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. I won the competition with a record amount of money raised for the organization as Miss Law and Order.
